2024 Clinical AI announcement FAQs

On 18th July 2024, Intelligent Ultrasound Group plc (AIM: IUG) announced it has entered into a conditional sale and purchase agreement for the sale of its Clinical AI business to GE HealthCare (read the full announcement here). We have put together the following FAQs to provide further information to our customers:

What platforms / technologies will be affected on completion?

Our ScanNav Assist AI software is exclusive to GE Healthcare (it powers their SonoLyst AI software on the Voluson range of ultrasound machines), so there will be no impact on our direct customer base.

The clinical version of ScanNav Anatomy Peripheral Nerve Block (PNB-C) will no longer be sold direct to customers by Intelligent Ultrasound.

NeedleTrainer and NeedleTrainer Plus are unaffected and will continue to be sold by the Intelligent Ultrasound team, both direct and through our resellers.

The proposed sale of our AI-based technologies will have no impact on our simulation customers as BodyWorks, HeartWorks, BabyWorks, ScanTrainer and NeedleTrainer will not be affected.

I’m a ScanNav Anatomy PNB customer, will my platform still be supported?

The clinically approved ScanNav Anatomy PNB-C will no longer be listed for future sale in the UK, US and EU – this will take effect immediately. Existing customers will continue to be supported.

I have NeedleTrainer Plus which incorporates the ScanNav Anatomy PNB training color block overlays for regional anesthesia – is this still being sold?

NeedleTrainer Plus is unaffected, as the current PNB Trainer AI software will continue to be incorporated into the product.

Will the change affect my existing support plan or warranties?

There is no change to any existing support and warranty plans.

I use IU Academy content – will I still have access to this?

Access to IU Academy and its content remains unaffected.

Will my key contacts at IU change?

Your key contacts at Intelligent Ultrasound (including sales, support and finance) will not be affected.

I’m an Intelligent Ultrasound customer, what will happen to the remaining part of the business?

It’s business as usual. We will continue to develop, sell and support our world-class ultrasound simulation platforms.

I have more questions, who can I contact about these?

If you have any immediate questions, which we have not answered above, please email media@intelligentultrasound.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
