MedaPhor installs 500th simulation system
MedaPhor Group plc (AIM: MED), the global provider of advanced ultrasound training simulators for medical professionals, announces it has sold its 500th simulation system, with the installation of a HeartWorks TTE Mobile echocardiography skills simulator at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s Clinical Simulation Center.
MedaPhor’s ScanTrainer and HeartWorks product ranges offer clinicians true-to-life simulation and learning systems for the teaching of transthoracic, transoesophageal, transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound skills across multiple medical specialities. Penn State Health runs a variety of educational programs at its Clinical Simulation Center located on the Hershey Medical Center campus, and prides itself on offering its annual cohort of over 23,000 learners, the most advanced simulation equipment.
David Rodgers, Manager at the Clinical Simulation Center, commented: “We use a variety of simulation technologies, including auscultation, ultrasound, and now echocardiography, within our programs to create more authentic patient-centered scenarios that can immerse the learners in the experience.
The addition of the HeartWorks simulator gives us new capabilities to merge technology with our standardized patients in order to create a more realistic environment for our learners. Enabling learners to interact simultaneously with the HeartWorks technology and standardized patients adds an extra level of realism and opens up new possibilities for them to access more complex cases and scenarios.”
Stuart Gall, CEO at MedaPhor, also commented: “We are delighted that Penn State Health has chosen HeartWorks for its patient-centered training scenarios for echocardiography. Through our close work with customers and leading clinicians, we are able to create some of the most advanced and realistic simulation platforms on the market and this 500th system installation demonstrates the growing demand for these systems around the world. We look forward to hitting more global sales milestones as we continue to enhance and grow our product offering.”
